Deep Blue Diner is the restaurant that I created and branded for my Sophomore Graphic Design Studio class. For this project, I worked with three Interior Architecture majors to develop a restaurant for a hypothetical hotel setting.
My part of the assignment was to create the restaurant itself, and all the necessary branding and design work to go with it. I designed the logo, choose fonts and colors, and created a style guide that I shared with the IA majors. I also created a menu and several graphics, and a super graphic for the IA students to utilize as they wanted.
I collaborated with them on the style and decoration of the restaurant, and they asked for my input on all sorts of things, from which flooring I preferred to what type of lighting I was picturing. I supplied them with all the graphics and branding information that they needed, and they sent back to me some beautiful rendering of the interior.
I really enjoyed this project, and it was so exciting to see what my partners came up with. They all created something so different and unique, and it was great to see how my ideas could be interpreted in different ways. This project was nominated by my professor for the Endicott Student Invitational exhibit in the spring of 2021.
