As a junior in college, I was given an assignment where I had to create a music festival.
The prompt itself was pretty vague: brand and design your own music festival. This meant that I was in charge of  everything, all aspects of the design, the message behind the festival, promotional info, and more. Along with that, it was up to me to decide what to make and include for the festival, like merchandise, games, and other attractions.
I created my music festival's brand around the central idea of a cassette mixtape, and used an upbeat retro vibe throughout the whole festival. I created graphics of instruments and music devices which I used in posters and other designed items. I also used bright, sharp shapes to visually represent loud music, and also to connect all the designed items with the similar shapes and colors.
This is one of my favorite projects I have worked on. I found it a lot of fun to work on, and was able to really push myself to think in different ways and be as creative as possible.
