In the summer of 2021, I was asked to help design a new t-shirt for Sandy Point Beach Resort in Alton Bay, NH. My family has been running the resort since before I was born, and I had worked there as a chambermaid and receptionist for a number of years. We had been talking about designing a new shirt for a while, and in 2021 we finally did it.
My family and I worked together coming up with ideas for the design. We wanted something different and creative, something that was more unique to Sandy Point. We settled on the image of something that could be seen on almost a daily basis on the lake: someone sitting in a float with a drink. Once we had the idea, I started sketching it out. I studied past shirts so that I could try and capture a similar feel to the design. We finally settled on an image that I hand drew, added a few colors, and the design was complete. I also drew a small little graphic to go on the front of some new shirts for the crew. I then added the text, which I kept very similar to the previous designs, as that was something we all wanted to keep consistent.
Once the design was done, I picked some different shirt colors to print the design on. I picked colors that I thought people would like, and colors that the design looked good on. I also picked a few sweatshirt colors as well. The shirts were very warmly welcomed, and we had to reorder after about a month of selling. It was great to see how much everyone liked my design. The next year I picked out some new colors for the shirts and we ordered another batch.
